Spell Sorter
Curious spellcasters that crave power or knowledge of change. These people learn the magic that manipulates the very being of a being beyond limits. Usually called Mad Doctors they are actually just filled with the need to satisfy the want for knowledge.
Wizards and Sorcerers most commonly become spell sorters to further put their magical abilities to use in other areas. Clerics and Druids may take this prestige class in order to appeases their deity, make woodland more unique and protected, or just help out the common man. Very rarely do Bards take this prestige class but few do in order to make more exciting tales to later tell.

CLASS FEATURES
All the following are class features of the Spell Sorter prestige class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Spell Sorters gain no proficiencies with weapons, armor, or shields.
Spells: When a Spell Sorter attains 1st level, and every after that, the character gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in whatever spellcasting class she belonged to before she added the prestige class. She does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained (improved chance of controlling or rebuking undead, metamagic, hit points beyond those received from the prestige class, and so on), except for an increased effective level of spellcasting. This essentially means that she adds the new level of Spell Sorter to the level of whatever other spellcasting class the character has, then determines spells per day, spells known, and caster level accordingly.
If a character had more than one spellcasting class before she became a Spell Sorter, she must decide to which class she adds the level of Spell Sorter.
Modified Familiar: A 1st-level Spell Sorter’s familiar or animal companion gains templates that slightly increase its power (no higher then +3 challenge rating) that the Spell Sorter may choose and change 1/week after 1 hour of ritual. The first template is added wither the Sorter wants it or not, and it is usually either celestial or fiendish depending on the alignment of the master.
EXP Creation Pool: At 2nd-lvel Spell Sorter she gains a reserve pool of XP that she can use to make creations and use on spells that require XP component. The XP in the pool equals 1/3 of the exp the Spell Sorter has for her level. The pool also retroactively gets exp equal to 1/3 of the exp she gains through adventuring. Every time the Spell Sorter gains a level and the amount of XP she gained does not bring her pool to the number of points that would be 1/3 the required for the level she obtained then it automatically refills to equal such but no further until she would gain more XP.
Self Modification: Minor: A 3rd-level Spell Sorter can use the magic of modification to add minor templates to her self. Minor templates include, but are not restricted to small power increases, subtype adding, or anything that adds 3 or less to the challenge rating. Any others are up to the DM’s discretion. Adding any template takes 1 hour of ritual in order to obtain until 8th level Spell Sorter then the addition only takes a round. (This modification is as if casting the spell that would add the template normally but the Spell Sorter only needs slots of 2 below the spell’s slot in order to do this and does not require the spell, but learns the spell automatically (when possible) of that spell in the proper spell slot after the modification.)
Major: At 8th level a Spell Sorter has learned the power much beyond their apprentice like lowers and can now add templates that require drastic change. These changes require the ritual time like that of the minor modifications until 10th level when the modification is takes a full round action. (This modification is as if casting the spell that would add the template normally but the Spell Sorter only needs slots of 1 below the spell’s slot in order to do this and does not require the spell, but learns the spell automatically (when possible) of that spell in the proper spell slot after the modification.)
Other Modification: Minor: A 5th-level Spell Sorter can transfer the power of modification to other companions by placing the other person in the ritual area before the ritual ends and the new target must be will other wise the ritual was a waste and the Spell Sorter could experience draw back (See Below). This modification follows the same rules and time as if the Spell Sorter were modifying their self, except at 8th level it becomes a full round action and only requires a touch to the willing subject in order to apply.
Major: At 8th level a Spell Sorter can add drastic changes to a subject as if they were modifying their own person. The same ritual rules apply as the Minor Other Modification did when they first gained that power but at 10th level adding a major change to a willing touched subject renders both the Spell Sorter and the subject defenseless for 5 rounds and during such time they are considered flat-footed. At the end of this change the Spell Sorter must wait 3 additional rounds in order to recharge and the Subject must wait 1 extra round in order to adjust to they new body they have acquired.
Change Modification: Self: A 5th-level Spell Sorter can change the template that they have on them selves with additional ritual casting this change can only be done 1 a week. At 7th level the Spell Sorter can do this an additional time each week and at 10th level the change can be done up to 3 times a week
Other: At 7th level a Spell Sorter can change the templates that are one another person as if they were changing their own modifications the same rules apply as their were doing it to them selves. This change can only be done once a week and at 10th level an additional change may be made in one week. The same subject can not change templates within the same week they must wait at least 2 weeks after the change in order to gain a new template from a Spell Sorter ritual.
Multiple Modifications: A 10th-level Spell Sorter has greatly experimented with the very fabric of life and knows the limits and possibilities of many things they wish to further push these. A Spell Sorter at this level can add multiple templates to themselves and others by adding an extra round per addition to the ritual. These templates must make sense in the sense that they can be added properly to the target so if a template only affects specific types the subject must first get the template that makes them that type then they may gain the desired template. Also at this point a Spell Sorter has manipulated them selves so much that they are considered Augmented Outsiders if they were not already outsiders.
